Neuropsychological Evaluations
Neuropsychological evaluations are used to assess brain-behavior relationships to explore how a brain injury, illness, or disease affects cognitive and emotional functioning and abilities. These evaluations can be used to better understand and clarify diagnoses, to assess for any changes in cognitive functioning, to identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses, and to inform treatment recommendations for you and your healthcare provider.

Psychological Evaluations
Psychological assessments are used to help clarify mental health diagnoses and can provide insight into personality characteristics that may influence relationships and mood. These evaluations differ from neuropsychological assessments because they are not specific to brain-related conditions, rather psychological symptoms and functioning.
Psychological assessments can be useful in clarifying and understanding any of the following diagnoses:

Psychological testing can also aid in pre-surgical evaluations for bariatric surgery and spinal cord stimulator procedures to ensure you are the best candidate for the intervention and to help tailor treatment recommendations for recovery and adherence to your medical treatment plan.

Independent Medical Examinations
Dr. Trahan provides Independent Medical Examinations and Forensic Neuropsychological Evaluations and has expertise in Traumatic Brain Injury. Dr. Trahan operates as an independent evaluator and consultant and provides comprehensive evaluations that are unbiased and ethical.
Consultation
Dr. Trahan has served as a consultant for ten years and has a variety of experience assisting personnel assessment and selection. She provides consultation to employers who are interested in hiring employees with specific skills and abilities by screening potential candidates and providing an expert opinion regarding their qualifications and potential contributions to your organization. She is also available for speaking engagements, upon request.
